From the "Bishops Who Bish" files: an eyewitness tells the story of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen versus a denizen of the Age of Aquarius. It won't spoil the story if I tell you the outcome, because it is self-evident; Sheen - 1; Aquarius - 0. Something to think about for those who, forgetting that the gifts of the Spirit are many, can't bear a forceful presentation, even in the face of an assault on the Faith.

Saw the video earlier today. I really would have liked to have seen that encounter. Seems also reason why RCTV was down over weekend was due to server overload of users - a good sign in an indirect way.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favourite Sheen stories: the little girl with the white rose (in his autobiography, A Treasure in Clay)
Ah, I have yet to read his autobiography. What is the story?
ReplyDeleteHa! Bishop sheen calls it like it is! Good for him - we need more like him.
ReplyDeleteIn our present age of marshmallow Catholicism...we certainly do.
ReplyDelete@Anita: A very short one evidencing how a towering faith made something impossible a reality. Won't say specifics and ruin it for you. Likely, you'll read his bio some day.
ReplyDeleteYep, I probably will. Meanwhile, I'll just have to content myself with this little Sheen gem. May not be as inspiring, but it is awfully funny.
